DAGUPAN CITY- Department of Public Works and Highways dostrict Engineer Rodolfo Dion of the Second Pangasinan Engineering district based in Lingayen confirmed to Pangasinan today that the G.I. sheets that were long promised by the national government to the victims of typhoon Cosme has finally arrived.
Dion said that a more or less 13 thousand G.I. sheets has arrived last July 7 2008 and that they have started the distribution in the towns of Manaoag, Dagupan, And Bugallon.
More or less we have distributed these GI sheets according to the priorities of the Social Development Office who have made their assessments as to who and how many GI sheets should be given,The second batch of the GI sheets arrived today July 14, 2008 these district has been allocated with one hundred thousand GI sheets as assessed by the DSWD and the local government unit Dion added.
Dion also explained that the delay of the GI sheets is because of the delayed in the delivery of the supplier attributed to the great number of orders and explained that the DPWH alone should not be blamed for the delay.
It will be recalled that the towns of Lingayen which recorded a total of 10 228 numbers of houses partially and totally damaged and Bugallon 3rd place for having 9424 totally damaged, Binmaley 9,197,
San Fabian 8024, Mangaldan 7928, San Jacinto 2740, Manaoag 1604 leaving thousands homeless.
The DPWH 2nd Pangasinan Engineering District has been doing all possible thing in order to assist the homeless left by typhoon Cosme.
