Solid Team of Gov. Espino Files CoCs
LINGAYEN—Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr.received overwhelming support from his partymates and political leaders with no less than National People’s Coalition Regional and Provincial chairman Mark Cojuangco leading his supporters during the filing of his certificate of candidacy (COC) for his reelection bid last October 3 at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Office in Dagupan City.
Gov. Espino accompanied by his wife Priscilla Espino and children Marissa, Bautista Mayor Amado III and Jumel who is seeking a mayoralty seat in Bugallon arrived at the Comelec office with his running mate re-electionist Vice-governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. at 9: 00 AM to file their COCs.
The governor also arrived with the complete slate of Provincial Board aspirants to show all out support to the re-election bid of Gov. Espino.
As this developed, Gov. Espino expressed elation over the support that NPC, the dominant political party in Pangasinan, is providing them as he noted that this is the first time in the history of Pangasinan politics that they have a very solid team and a complete slatewhere almost all the incumbent members of their party from congressmen to BMs, from mayors to councilors have shown support.
The complete slate of candidates eyeing for a seat in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan who expressed support to the governor includes BM Napoleon Fontelera, Jr. and Rene Sison for the first district, BM Raul Sison and Nicky Boy Reyes for the second district, Angel M. Baniqued, Jr. and Leo De Vera for the third district, BM MojamitoLibunao, Jr. and Terry Sison for the fourth district, BM DaniloUy and BM Clemente Arboleda, Jr. for the fifth district and BM Alfonso Bince and BM Salvador Perez, Jr., for the sixth district.
It will be recalled that during the last gubernatorial election, Gov. Espino trounched his opponent by leading with over 500, 000votes.
With the solid support of the NPC and Biskeg members including the six congressmen of the province, the Abono Partylist and other key officials, Gov. Espino may even surpass the half-million lead he has recorded, according to political observers.
As has been the family’s tradition, prior to his filing of candidacy, Gov. Espino and his family together with his partymates attended a mass at the Manaoag Church. (PIO/Angeline D. Villanueva)
